the breakup diaries

Happy birthday, Teacher Barrera! :D How I miss you.. *sniff*

Just read Meemay's copy of The Breakup Diaries by Maya Calica. It's so CUTE. :D So can relate. Not like I've been in a breakup or anything. NBSB, remember? *winky wink* Basta. :P And the author is Pinay pa so the atmosphere and kwento is very much Pinoy in flavor. But it's not your typical Pinoy mushy ek-ek. :D Maya Calica is Editor-In-Chief of Seventeen Philippines mag, by the way.

There's a really cute part when Beach, one of the male protagonists, recited a sweet poem to Monica, the female bida while they were in Boracay. Here it is: "What I'd give to see what you see now without the world spinning.. Out on the water I watch a myriad of diamonds bounce of foamy waves.. They sparkle in the moon glow for a split second only to get swept away by waves crashing at the shore. If you listen to your heart, you'll hear the swell of the sea whisper secrets meant only for you and me.."

Yeah, I know what my guy classmates are prolly thinkin` right now. Mababaw nanaman ako. Sige na, tanggap ko na. Lagi naman eh. Wahaha joke! :D

The whole novel revolved around Monica and how she survived a breakup. At first it involved denial, lack of sleep, and over-analyzing the situation. But in the end everything went okay for her. She was able to move on, even if hotshot eagle Itos dumped her.

Now I'm thinking about using this novel for my book report.

Oops, nuh-uh, that would probably be an academic suicide. *giggles*

Never mind that. :D
